The Young Philharmonic Orchestra Lower Saxony

The Young Philharmonic Orchestra of Lower Saxony was founded in 1989 and consisted at first of former and "too old becoming" musicians of the Youth Orchestra Lower Saxony. Bringing the love of music, the joy of making music with friends and the ambition to perform big orchestral works on stage, the musicians formed an unique ensemble whose high level has been spread quickly both in the scene and the audience. The musicians of the orchestra are state and national winners of the competition "Youth making music", they are studying at german and foreign music colleges and have a distinctive orchestral experience. But there are not only pupils and students. Also professionals with firm engagements in leading german orchestras love to play in this free, young and dynamic ensemble.

Free from the routine of a professional Symphony-Orchestra, the love of music, community spirit and high motivation of every individual stands in the foreground - these elements make up the unique character of this orchestra. Not for nothing the JPON is considered as one of the finest ensembles of its kind.

Besides the big annual Symphony-Projects the JPON realizes in collaboration with free, city or church choirs concerts featuring works for chorus and orchestra.

2009 marked the orchestras 20th anniversary with a special JPON festive programm.
